Once I could read, I devoured many of the classics, like Heidi, Little Women, and of course Tom Sawyer.
Little Women and Tom Sawyer were my favorite books. Maybe my "comfort" books. I read every version I could find in English and Spanish. I have not read Tom Sawyer for a while, but four months ago I found another version of Little Women (free on Kindle!) and I had to read it again.
I am always in search for good books to read.
I just finished "You Matter More Than You Think," by Leslie Parrot. Great book, I might have to blog about it.
I am currently reading "Hello, I Love You" by Ted Kluck. This one is turning out to be quite therapeutic as he shares his journey bringing home his two sons from Ukraine.
But I am out of "fun" book ideas.
Any suggestions? What do you like to read?
Here's a couple of my favorites!
ReplyDelete"Chosen by a Horse" by Susan Richards. It's an autobiography of a woman who took in an abused horse. Through the process of seeing the horse through to recovery it helped her recover from her own struggles in life. She later wrote a 2nd autobiography about how she met her (now) husband on a book tour after writing that book. She's very honest and open about the pain and struggles she goes through in recovering from alcoholism and depression.
I'm currently reading another book with a similar theme, this one is fiction. "The Blessings of the Animals" by Katrina Kittle. This book takes a deep look at the meaning of marriage as the main character recovers after her husband suddenly announces he wants a divorce. I'm really liking it so far. It's a nice story and great food for thought about marriage and what it really means to be married.

Anything by Charles Martin. I am a huge reader and have never had a favorite author until I started reading his books. They're great!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "Life, In Spite of Me" by Kristen Jane Anderson with Tricia Goyer. (Tricia actually wrote it but it's Kristen's story). It's an easy read with a great message!
